(30 AUGUST 2024)

MESSAGE OF H.E. RECEP TAYYİP ERDOĞAN, PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF TÜRKİYE TO BE DELIVERED AT 81 PROVINCES AND MISSIONS ABROAD

Dear Citizens,

Distinguished Guests,

I greet you with my most heartfelt feelings, deep affection and respect.

Today, we celebrate the 102nd anniversary of the Great Victory, all together, in great enthusiasm, pride and excitement.

On this momentous date, which is one of the critical thresholds of our history,I would like to congratulate August 30 Victory Day of our glorious nation, our Turkish Cypriot brothers and millions of citizens all over the World.

I would like to convey my heartfelt appreciation to our guests who share our festive joy in our missions abroad.

The Great Victory, which Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk defines as the “immortal monument of the Turkish Nation's idea of freedom and independence” has eternally assured the existence of our nation in the Anatolian lands.

With the August 30 Battle of the Commander-in-Chief, the armies of occupation were decisively defeated, the axis of imperialism were destroyed and the gates leading to the proclamation of the Republic were wide opened.

Through the Great Victory, the Turkish Nation declared to the whole world once again that it will not accept captivity, will not let its will to be chained, and will never compromise on living independently in its homeland.

The Great Victory, achieved by virtue of the heroism of our martyrs, the blood of our veterans and the sacrifices of our nation, guides us today as well.

While we are resolutely moving towards our goals for the Turkish Century, we are also turning our ideal of a great and powerful Türkiye step by step into reality.

We are mobilizing all our means to end conflicts, persecutions and massacres in different geographies of the world, especially in Gaza.

We stand firm on the side of the oppressed regardless of their identity or beliefs, without expecting any material benefits.

I would like to express these convictions with great pleasure:

We are stronger today than yesterday; hopefully we will be much stronger tomorrow.

Together with our friends and brothers, who have set their hearts on the same ideals as us, we will certainly establish a global order in which everyone is represented justly.

Türkiye, which has inspired the oppressed nations by its War of Independence, will also be the guiding force of a world where peace, justice and tranquillity prevail.

With these thoughts in mind, I commemorate Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the commander-in-chief of the Great Victory, and his comrades-in-arms with gratitude, I wish mercy from Allah the Almighty to our martyrs, who are the eternal guardians of our independence, and I remember our veterans with gratefulness.

Happy August 30th Victory Day.

Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN

President of the Republic of Türkiye
